Hey guys!  My name is Maria, I’m 18 and I helped to put together this website.  I grew up in Holyoke, but about 2 years ago, my family decided to move to Boston.  It was hard to leave my friends, but since then I’ve made some great friends in Boston that I love to hang out with.

So, you’re probably wondering why someone my age is so into sexual health, right?  When my boyfriend and I started having sex, I knew that I wanted to go on birth control so I wouldn’t get pregnant. 

I did some internet research, but I got overwhelmed with all the different birth control options (the ring? the cap? the patch?.. what’s the difference?!).  I decided to talk to my aunt – she’s a doctor and knows a lot about this stuff – and she helped me figure out what was best for me. 

Since then I’ve been really into learning about sex and sexual health, and I’ve found that the more I know about that kind of stuff, the better sex is and the safer I am against pregnancy and STDs.  Even though I’m single now I’m pretty much the “sexpert” of my friends so they come to me for advice and info.
